Role: Senior Microsoft Fabric Data Modeler / Semantic Model Architect

Role Summary
Seeking an experienced Microsoft Fabric Data Modeler to transform an on-premises MySQL Vessel ERP data model into a scalable Microsoft Fabric analytics platform. The role will own dimensional modeling, Gold-layer design, semantic model development, and collaboration with Power BI developers to enable enterprise self-service reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex MySQL ERP schemas and business processes.
  • Design enterprise-grade Star Schema data (models Facts, Dimensions, Bridge Tables, SCDs).
  • Develop and optimize Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer data models in Microsoft Fabric.
  • Build and maintain Fabric Semantic Models for reusable enterprise reporting.
  • Define KPIs, measures, hierarchies, relationships, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Partner with Data Engineers to design analytics-ready data structures.
  • Collaborate closely with Power BI developers to deliver performant dashboards and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Work with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into scalable data models.
  • Ensure data quality, reconciliation, governance, and documentation standards.
  • Optimize Direct Lake, semantic model performance, and reporting scalability.

Required Skills

  • 7-10+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, and BI solutions.
  • Strong expertise in Star Schema, Dimensional Modeling, and Data Warehouse design.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Semantic Models.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with MySQL or other enterprise ERP databases.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI Semantic Modeling, DAX, and self-service analytics.
  • Experience with Azure Data Services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and cloud-based analytics architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Fabric certifications (DP-600, DP-700).
