Job description

Position Overview
MetroSys is seeking a versatile Power BI Developer to support data visualization, reporting, and analytics initiatives. This role is primarily focused on building and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, while also contributing to broader data and development efforts as needed.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the Microsoft data stack and is adaptable-able to step into adjacent responsibilities when project needs evolve.Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Build and optimize data models, datasets, and visualizations using Power BI Desktop and Service.
  • Write and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Visual Studio for database development and report integration.
  • Work with Azure-based data services to support reporting and data pipeline needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reporting solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reporting environments.
  • Support ad hoc data requests and assist with troubleshooting reporting or data-related issues.
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Assist with related data, reporting, or light development tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-6+ years of experience in data development, BI, or reporting roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, data modeling, report development).
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (joins, CTEs, stored procedures, performance tuning).
  • Experience with SSMS and Visual Studio.
  • Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, or similar).
