Business Intelligence Project Manager
Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a BI Project Manager to join a growing PMO organization supporting a portfolio of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics initiatives. This role is primarily focused on project management (70%) with a business analysis component (30%). The position is ideal for a candidate who can drive Agile delivery while partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and define solutions. You will take ownership of project deliverables, requirements, and risks, moving beyond basic scheduling and status reporting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple BI and data-related projects simultaneously within an Agile environment, coordinating with both onshore and offshore resources.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions, while promoting Agile best practices.
  • Drive project timelines, identify and mitigate risks and dependencies, and ensure successful execution of deliverables.
  • Lead stakeholder meetings, provide regular project status updates, and serve as the liaison between business users and technical teams.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, developing user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and document requirements for operational reporting needs.
  • Work with Data Architects and BI Engineers to understand data flows from various platforms, including Salesforce CRM and Accounting General Ledgers.
  • Partner with QA testers to ensure delivered solutions meet specified requirements and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience leading Agile/Scrum projects.
  • 2+ years of Business Analyst experience gathering and documenting requirements.
  • Experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and managing cross-functional teams, including developers and QA resources.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Reporting, or Data Engineering projects.
  • Exposure to Power BI reporting and dashboard initiatives.
  • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, or enterprise data modernization projects.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, general ledger data, or system integrations.
  • A basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Power Apps, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
