What does a Power BI Developer Intern do?

A Power BI Developer Intern assists in creating, managing, and optimizing interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. Their tasks often include cleaning and transforming data, building data visualizations, and supporting the business intelligence needs of an organization. Interns typically work under the guidance of experienced developers to gain hands-on experience with data analysis, DAX calculations, and report publishing. This role helps interns build foundational skills in data analytics and visualization while contributing to real-world business projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Power BI Developer Intern?

To thrive as a Power BI Developer Intern, you need a solid understanding of data analysis, visualization techniques, and proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, often supported by coursework in data science or computer science. Familiarity with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query, SQL databases, and Excel is essential, and certifications like Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate can be beneficial.
