As a Manufacturing Engineer II/Sr. for Greenheck Group you will optimize factory costs, quality, and customer service through the conception, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, or product design. This role will be based out of our Knoxville, TN location but we are open to considering qualified candidates who are open to relocating to the Knoxville, TN area.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Coordinate and implement moderate complexity training initiatives to support manufacturing.
  • Identify, specify, and justify moderate complexity capital expenditures.
  • Investigate, purchase, and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Recognize, recommend and validate design and process changes to improve manufacturability. Implement changes with product design engineering.
  • Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, department layout and machinery efficiency.
  • Analyze and make recommendations using summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
  • Lead and support safety, 5S, and Lean initiatives. Expected to complete internal Lean Leader certification.
  • Will provide mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports.
  • Manage moderately complex team projects involving individuals from various departments to ensure integration between manufacturing, sales, finance, marketing and product engineering.
  • Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
  • Support production and manufacturing quality management system and policies.

What You Should have as a level II:
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering required.
  • CAD skills required.
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in engineering or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in engineering preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • General fluency in SAP.
  • Experience with Lean concepts.

What You Should have as a level Sr.:
  • 6-9 years of relevant work experience in engineering required. Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • CAD skills required.
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree in engineering or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor Degree in engineering is preferred.
  • General fluency in SAP.
  • Strong Lean experience.
  • Possess advanced experience in plant layout.

Some Things We Think You Should Know:
  • You will serve as the subject matter expert for powder coating operations, providing technical leadership, daily support, troubleshooting, and training to ensure high-quality finishes that meet specifications and standards.
  • You will lead process, equipment, and performance optimization efforts, including specifying and justifying new equipment, implementing process improvements, establishing KPIs, and driving efficiency, quality, cost, and sustainability gains.
  • You will partner cross-functionally to integrate coating requirements into product and manufacturing designs while leading safety, environmental compliance, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement through SOPs and project management.
  • 30 to 50% travel to our North Carolina location will be required as needed. (less travel once our Knoxville, TN location is fully operational).
  • We have posted this role at our WI, NC, and OK locations, as we are open to relocating a qualified candidate to our Knoxville, TN location within a 6-month window of time.
