We are currently seeking a detail-orientated, organized and proactive Production Scheduler to join our team.


Job Summary:


The Production Scheduler will be responsible for planning and coordinating the production schedules to meet customer demands and ensure optimal utilization of resources. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and/or help facilitate detailed master production schedules to meet customer orders and projected sales forecasts.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement/purchasing, and engineering teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production goals.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, equipment availability, or other factors.
  • Communicate with sales and customer service departments to provide updates on production status and delivery timelines.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, resource shortages, and other issues that may impact production efficiency.
  • Prioritize production in accordance with delivery due dates. Identify past due orders and provide regular updates on timelines and resources required. Evaluate the impact on remaining schedules and communicate accordingly.
  • Identify capacity overload based on expected demands.
  • Analyze production data and generate reports to track orders, performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Provide delivery and promise dates as requested by the Sales and Customer Service Department.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, work orders, and inventory levels. Update ERP database to best reflect data available in regard to forecast, lead times, stock and deliveries.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling processes and overall production efficiency.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in production scheduling or planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, paint/powder coating and assembly processes is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
