About Andes:
Founded in 2011, Andes Global is a leader for the America's in the frozen and refrigerated meat trading industry, focusing on Pork, Beef, Poultry, and Vegetables.
Our offices, customers, and vendors are located around the region and the globe, including 20 countries we sell to and +10 countries we currently buy from.
Position Summary:
We are on the lookout for a highly driven individual with a passion for the meat industry. This position will be responsible for procuring commodity poultry products (fresh and/or frozen); while building and maintaining solid long-term relationships with counter parties in the meat industry across North America and potential foreign suppliers. The position clientele will include other traders, distributors, and meat processors.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for managing portfolio of suppliers within North America, and other areas around the world.
  • Responsible to execute on buying from to assigned suppliers.
  • Mange inventories and positions for the category.
  • Consults with suppliers to secure product and/or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure daily analysis of market trends and data.
  • Work closely with trade team and other sales teams to gain incremental business opportunities across all trade channels.
  • Work closely w/logistics and operations in order to satisfy customers' needs and timelines.
  • Develop and execute sales goals as per company's standards & requirements.
  • Serve as an advisor to both customers and our sales team to capitalize on market opportunities and trends.
  • Work closely with accounting and accounts payable to comply with all requirements, and to make sure aging is up to date and in within parameters.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of procurement experience in the poultry industry.
  • Sound knowledge of North American markets across the protein industry
  • Good connections with meat packers and end users
  • Transferable portfolio of business is essential
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy, while quick to learn
  • Excellent negotiation, oral and written communication skills
  • Enjoys helping and interacting with other people; always friendly and courteous
  • Excellent judgment and discretion in handling difficult situations
  • Strong work ethics and a natural team player who helps others succeed
  • Excited about enhancing its performance by leveraging the use of technology and our database to increase sales
  • Bi-lingual English & Spanish is a plus.
