Founded in 2018, SoulShine Farms has quickly grown to be a local further-processing poultry industry leader. Our work revolves around our values, our people, and our dedication to quality.
We are seeking a full-time Senior Safety Technician to support the facility's environmental, health, and safety programs and help maintain a safe, compliant workplace. This position reports to the Senior EHS Manager and provides hands-on safety support, assists with training and incident investigations, conducts workplace inspections, and helps guide the daily activities of other Safety Technicians.
The ideal candidate will have previous safety experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, production, warehousing, or a similar industrial environment.
This role is based at our Gainesville, Georgia plant, and starting pay will be between $20 and $25/hour, based on experience. This role is eligible for overtime.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and observations throughout the poultry processing plant.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and help ensure concerns are reported and corrected.
  • Assist with investigations involving injuries, accidents, near misses, and property damage.
  • Help identify root causes and monitor corrective actions through completion.
  • Provide safety guidance and support to employees, supervisors, and plant leadership.
  • Assist with new-hire safety orientation and ongoing employee training.
  • Help coordinate and guide the daily activities of Safety Technicians.
  • Monitor compliance with personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Support programs involving lockout/tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, chemical safety, fall prevention, and emergency response.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, emergency drills, and safety committee activities.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and corrective-action logs.
  • Assist with OSHA recordkeeping and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Respond to safety concerns and incidents during the assigned shift.
  • Promote employee involvement and encourage a positive safety culture.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, quality, and company policies.
  • Perform additional safety-related and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of workplace safety experience.
  • Ability to hear, speak, read, and comprehend communication in English.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, training employees, and assisting with incident investigations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to address unsafe conditions professionally and respectfully.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and accurate records.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or similar programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to lead by example and support other safety team members.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in poultry processing, food manufacturing, production, warehousing, or another industrial environment preferred.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish communication skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, and/or OSHA certification.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is performed at a poultry further-processing plant and requires regular time on the production floor. The work environment may include refrigerated, wet, noisy, fast-paced, and production areas. The role requires walking production floors, climbing stairs, accessing equipment areas, wearing required PPE, and supporting multiple shifts as needed.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment.
  • Regular exposure to cold, wet, noisy, and fast-paced working conditions.
  • Possible exposure to cleaning chemicals, raw poultry, and strong odors.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all safety and sanitation requirements.
