Job description

The commodity truck driver position is a person who ensures that potato by product is loaded, transported and delivered to the cattle feed yard and outside sale locations in a safe and consistent manner.
Reports To: Feedyard Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
  • Drive commodity truck
  • Load, transport and unload potato waste
  • Maintain communication with commodity truck supervisor and feed yard manager.
  • Fill out and complete the daily checklist on truck.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections.
  • Maintain Beef Northwest Feeders safety standards.
  • Adhere to BNW's HACCP standards.
  • Clean up spills that may occur at the potato plants, on the highway and at the feed yard.
  • Ability to put chains on in inclement weather.
  • Perform maintenance on commodity trucks and trailers.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Must have a valid CDL and health card.
  • Must be able to operate semi-truck and trailer safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to problem solve.

Typical Physical Requirements
  • Requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs to chest height and 50lbs overhead.
