Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the individualized mental health needs of clients, utilizing structured interviews and standardized testing tools as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that consider each client’s unique circumstances, goals, and preferences.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, couples, and families, employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches.
  • Regularly monitor and document client progress, adapting treatment strategies based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and community support systems, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical practice and confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines and state regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily support clients who are experiencing mental health challenges related to motherhood, including postpartum depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. Your work will impact individuals as well as couples and families, focusing on their holistic well-being. Engaging with this population requires sensitivity, patience, and a thorough understanding of the unique challenges faced during the perinatal period.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • An active license in New Jersey as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD).
  • At least two years of direct experience providing therapy in a clinical setting, particularly with a maternal or postpartum focus.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining accurate and timely records.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in teletherapy and familiarity with digital health tools and platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices specific to maternal mental health is a plus.
