Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Maternal Postpartum Mental Support, Inc. This full-time role is primarily remote, allowing you to engage closely with clients while maintaining a flexible work setting. As a licensed professional, you will provide individualized treatment and counseling services that support maternal and postpartum mental health, helping clients navigate the complexities of their emotional wellness.

About the Organization

Maternal Postpartum Mental Support, Inc. is at the forefront of providing essential mental health services, specifically tailored to individuals facing challenges related to pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, effective mental health care that enhances the quality of life for our clients. We believe in a holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the impact of early maternal mental wellness on families and communities.

Work Environment

This role is designed to be performed primarily in a remote environment, facilitating a work-life balance while allowing you to connect with clients through secure digital platforms. Our outpatient office model supports flexible scheduling, enabling you to manage your caseload effectively while adhering to our organizational standards for ethical and professional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients to assess their mental health needs and formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapeutic strategies that align with the goals and aspirations of each client.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions through one-on-one counseling sessions, workshops, and group therapy designed for maternal and postpartum clients.
  • Continuously monitor client progress, adapting treatment strategies as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in our electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric practitioners, to ensure a comprehensive care approach.
  • Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards pertinent to mental health practice.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on serving individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges related to maternal issues, including pregnancy anxiety, postpartum depression, and other related concerns. You will work closely with a diverse client population, encompassing varying backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, and unique personal narratives. Your role will be pivotal in providing support that is both culturally sensitive and individualized to foster improved mental health outcomes during a critical phase of life.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • Active, unrestricted licensure in New Jersey as one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist (PsyD).
  • At least two years of direct experience in a mental health counseling role, preferably related to maternal or postpartum issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in client interactions.
  • A strong ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Thorough understanding of evidence-based mental health therapies and treatment methodologies.
Preferred Experience

While our minimum requirement is two years in the counseling field, candidates with experience specifically within maternal mental health will be given preference. Familiarity with digital health tools and electronic health records is also highly beneficial, as our practice leverages technology to streamline client management and enhance service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits

We are proud to offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $104,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust salary, our benefits package includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as flexibility in scheduling to accommodate your needs. We also emphasize the importance of continual learning and professional development, providing access to workshops, training, and resources that support your growth as a mental health professional.

At Maternal Postpartum Mental Support, we believe in nurturing our employees' professional journeys. As part of our team, you will have opportunities to lead small group workshops, engage in community outreach programs, and contribute to our growing knowledge base on maternal mental health. We are committed to fostering a culture where your ideas are valued and where you can progress toward leadership roles within our organization.

Why Join Our Team
