Job description

Job Description:
The DevOps Engineer designs and manages database architecture, CI/CD pipeline infrastructure, and on-premises platform services across all Business Units. This role owns advanced performance optimization, disaster recovery strategy, and platform infrastructure including Redis, MinIO, and Kafka. The DevOps Engineer provides oversight of Linux/Windows server infrastructure and security compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage SQL Server database architecture including high availability (AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Mirroring), replication, and capacity planning
  • Own advanced database performance optimization - query tuning, index strategy, partitioning, and resource utilization
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment workflows across environments
  • Architect, deploy, and manage on-premises platform infrastructure including Redis clusters, MinIO storage, Kafka brokers, and Docker containers
  • Architect and maintain disaster recovery procedures, validate RPO/RTO, and conduct regular DR testing
  • Evaluate, prototype, and introduce new technologies - including platform services (Redis, MinIO, Kafka, RabbitMQ) - in on-premises environments
  • Coordinate with Software Engineers on database design, schema optimization, and deployment strategies
  • Provide oversight of Linux and Windows server infrastructure and security compliance
  • Lead root cause analysis and remediation for critical database and infrastructure incidents
  • Define and maintain database standards, naming conventions, and operational procedures for the team
  • Support compliance audits and ensure database systems meet regulatory and corporate security requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required:
  • SQL Server architecture - high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning
  • T-SQL optimization, indexing strategies, query plan analysis, and database internals
  • CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Pipelines)
  • Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration
  • Database disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution
  • Docker containerization in on-premises environments
Preferred:
  • Microsoft certifications in SQL Server or Azure Data (DP-300, or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience with on-premises platform services (Redis, MinIO, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch)
  • Experience with database automation using PowerShell, dbatools, or similar scripting tools
  • Experience with other database platforms (PostgreSQL, Oracle) in addition to SQL Server
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management practices
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in database administration with hands-on SQL Server and CI/CD pipeline expertise
Preferred:
  • Master's degree or relevant certifications
  • 5+ years with experience managing on-premises platform infrastructure at scale
