What we want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate works with data PET-MRI, EEG, and fMRI data collected from on-going mechanistic clinical trials studying novel pharmaceuticals for
PTSD and treatment resistant depression. Plays a critical role in the expansion of the multi-modal pharmaco-imaging program.
What you need to know
Salary: Will be commensurate based on the selected hire's education and experience.
Location: Bryan, TX; May travel as required
Schedule: Full-Time; May have to work on the weekend and/or longer hours.

Required Education and Experience
  • Appropriate PhD in neuroscience, neuroimaging, medical physics, nuclear imaging, mathematics, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Substantial published experience with PET imaging analysis.
  • Experience with EEG data analysis or digital signal processing.
  • Working knowledge of scientific computing languages, including Matlab, Python.
  • Experience with server computing in the Linux environment.

Responsibilities
Research
  • Under general supervision, conducts research into their field of expertise.
  • Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise.
  • Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite.
  • Analyzes research data and summarizes results.
  • Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications.

Pharmaco-Imaging
  • Develops the analytical framework for PET-MRI and EEG analyses.
  • Develops novel methodology for modeling the relationship between PET ligand features and EEG.
  • Analyzes EEG data and prepares findings for publication, and presentation at
  • national and international conferences.
  • Manages data archives and prepare reports, transfers, and general coordination of the imaging data.
  • Develops detailed documentation for analytical pipelines.
  • Works with the supervisory team to write new grant applications for the expansion of the multi-modal pharmaco-imaging program.
  • Engages in collaborative research activities with other trainees and faculty within
  • the department of psychiatry
  • Engages in non-didactic teaching activities, including the mentoring of
  • undergraduate research assistants, presentations at journal clubs, and skills
  • demonstrations within the department.

Mentoring
  • May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.

Presentations
  • Prepares presentation materials on research topic that may be presented to small and/or large groups.
  • Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
