Role Description This Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Materials Physics and Engineering is based at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, , focusing on quantum and multifunctional nanomaterials (nanowires, fibers, 2D materials with ferroelectric/multiferroic properties).  The postdoctoral researcher will conduct experimental research in materials physics and engineering, including designing and performing laboratory experiments, characterizing materials, and interpreting results. Day-to-day responsibilities include data collection and analysis, preparing manuscripts and reports, contributing to grant proposals, and presenting findings at seminars or conferences. The role may involve mentoring and supporting students in laboratory activities, collaborating with faculty and research teams, and maintaining laboratory equipment and safety protocols. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to stay current with relevant literature and actively contribute to the scholarly community at TSU.


Qualifications:

  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong background in quantum and multifunctional materials.
  • Strong Laboratory Skills in experimental materials physics and engineering, including experimental design, materials characterization, and instrumentation.
  • Hands-on experience with optical and laser spectroscopy, physical vapor deposition, clean room operations, and basic chemistry.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent research and collaborate effectively.
  • Demonstrated Research experience in physics or materials science, with a record of peer-reviewed publications or conference presentations.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on nanomaterials with ferroelectric/multiferroic properties.
  • Utilize advanced instrumentation for synthesis, characterization, and analysis.
  • Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
