The Department of Health, Society, & Behavior at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a postdoctoral position in disparities in health care utilization.

*Requirements: *
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent by the start of the appointment and have a strong research background in the diverse research areas the HSB faculty focus on. The incumbent is expected to work independently with occasional supervision and will have (co-) authored at least 4 or more peer-reviewed articles in area of study and focus.

Below are the HSB faculty focus areas and some specific requirements:
* Health disparities research: understanding socioecological/multi-level theories of contextual risk factors, quantitative analysis, epidemiological methods,
* Population-based research: exposure and risk assessment, environmental justice, application of big data and machine learning in social and behavioral health:

Requires candidates with strong data analytical skills and/or community engagement research experience. Preference will be given to candidates with solid background in epidemiology, mixed methods, experience with large datasets, and with excellent communication skills.

Additional Information:
Postdoc level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year; renewal is dependent on availability of funding.
