What is a post?

Post jobs generally refer to positions within postal services or organizations that handle the collection, processing, and delivery of mail and packages. These jobs can include postal clerks, mail carriers, sorters, and other support roles in local or national postal systems. Employees in post jobs are responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of mail to homes and businesses, maintaining postal records, and providing customer service. The work may involve sorting mail by hand or with machines, driving delivery routes, or working at post office counters. These roles are vital for keeping communities connected and commerce running smoothly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a postmaster, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Postmaster, you need strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a background in business administration or postal operations, often supported by relevant work experience. Familiarity with mail sorting systems, postal regulations, and management software is typically required. Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills help Postmasters effectively manage staff and address community needs. These skills ensure efficient postal service operations, regulatory compliance, and a high level of customer satisfaction.

What are some typical challenges faced by post office clerks and how can they be managed effectively?

Post Office Clerks often encounter challenges such as managing high customer volumes during peak hours, handling complex shipping or mail issues, and maintaining accuracy in transactions. Effective time management, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with postal regulations can help address these challenges. Additionally, teamwork and clear communication with colleagues are essential for managing workloads and ensuring customer satisfaction. Regular training and staying updated on postal procedures also contribute to a smoother workflow.

Post workers primarily handle mail sorting and delivery within postal services, often working in post offices or mail routes. Couriers focus on delivering packages and documents, usually via vehicle, often working for private logistics companies. While both roles involve delivery, Post roles are more associated with national postal systems, whereas Couriers tend to work in private sectors with faster, often same-day delivery services.

Job description

About the Role
Our client is a rapidly growing mortgage lending company. They are seeking a Post Closing Specialist to own loan delivery, purchase timelines, and post-closing issue resolution across investor and whole-loan channels.

This individual is accountable for ensuring that funded loans are delivered accurately, purchased efficiently, and resolved effectively when issues arise. The role serves as the primary owner of investor delivery operations and rebuttals, as well as the main point of contact for correspondent sellers and institutional investors.

This is a hands-on position suited for someone who has independently managed suspense pipelines, negotiated rebuttals, and understands how post-closing execution directly impacts cash flow, counterparty confidence, and risk management.

The role operates fully post-close, with decision-making authority once loans are funded, and plays a critical role in protecting capital and scaling delivery operations.

This is a full-time remote role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of funded loans through purchase

  • Manage investor suspense, rebuttals, and curative documentation

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery disputes and delayed purchases

  • Oversee offshore post-closing teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness

  • Track purchase timelines, aging pipeline, and days-to-cash

  • Act as the main point of contact for investors and correspondent sellers

  • Establish and enforce delivery SLAs and performance standards

  • Analyze delivery defects and implement process improvements

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of post-closing and investor delivery experience

  • Demonstrated ownership of delivery, suspense, and rebuttal processes

  • Experience resolving investor exceptions and purchase delays

  • Familiarity with LOS platforms and investor delivery portals

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage cash timing metrics

  • Clear communicator with strong judgment and accountability

Benefits
  • Meaningful equity in the organization
  • Top-tier medical, vision & dental with support for dependents
  •  401(k)
  •  Flexible Time Off
  •  Hardware Allowance: $2,000 to fix up your workspace
  •  At-cost Mortgages
