Job Summary
We are seeking a Post-Production Operations Specialist for a regular full-time on-site position in Midtown Manhattan.
This position is primarily an operations and workflow role (approximately 90%), with hands-on editing responsibilities (approximately 10%). The Post Production Operations Specialist's primary focus will be to own and manage the workflows that deliver assets for livestreams, marketing, and monetization efforts across the Post team of Editors and Associate Editors. This role demands a passion for organization and creative workflows.
Additionally, when needed, this Specialist edits creative elements such as conforming, versioning, social media verticals, cutdowns of longer content, audio fixes, and graphic fixes, typically picking up and refining work that another editor has already started, rather than handling rough cuts or full assembly. This role requires a high aptitude for customer service with a solutions-oriented approach to serving our client. This Specialist directs the daily work assignments of the Post team of Editors and Associate Editors, determining which projects each team member works on, in what order, and with what priority. Editors execute assignments as directed by this role.
Essential Functions:
Workflow Management (Primary Focus)
  • Design and implement workflow strategies
  • Own the post production operations strategy and establish department wide operating procedures.
  • Manage project intake of all edit requests for the post team, exercising independent judgment to prioritize and schedule accordingly
  • Evaluate staffing capacity and resource utilization. Directs and assigns the daily workload of Editors and Associate Editors, determining who works on which projects and establishing work priority and sequencing across the team
  • Analyze operational performance and act as a "guardian at the gate," flagging issues before they become problems
  • Develop KPIs and operational metrics to reduce single points of failure across the post production team
  • Drive effective, efficient communication and collaboration for projects that span multiple functions
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in order to anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and balance business needs
  • Define and implement efficient, repeatable processes that can enable the business to scale
  • Deliver strategic guidance to teams across all aspects of post-production and editing
  • Pick up and refine work already started by another editor, executing fixes such as conforming, versioning, social media cutdowns, audio fixes, and graphic fixes, rather than building assets from rough cuts or full assembly
  • Collaborate with creative teams to interpret direction and feedback, bringing creative visions to life while expressing and communicating your creative point of view
  • Partner with team members to interpret marketing and programming strategy, delivering compelling visuals that execute on strategic objectives
  • Integrate provided graphic elements as needed to enhance creative deliverables
  • Produce assets that are both strategically and creatively exceptional
  • Manage priorities and workload effectively to meet expectations and deadlines
  • Perform targeted color correction and audio balancing to achieve professional standards
  • Establish delivery timelines using informed judgment and provide proactive status updates to production staff
