About the Role:
The Post Office Manager is responsible for the secure and efficient operation of the campus post office, serving students and the business needs of the College. The position manages mail and package services, the customer service window, postal systems and records, and relationships with carriers and vendors. This position also supervises the Postal Clerk and supports Campus Information and broader campus operations as assigned.
Flexible FTE: This position offers the option to work between .75 and 1.0 FTE (approximately 30-40 hours per week) based on the selected candidate's preferred schedule.
What You'll Do:
  1. Manage daily campus post office operations, including the receipt, sorting, secure storage, tracking, and distribution of mail, packages, and other deliveries.
  2. Provide excellent customer service to students, employees, and visitors by managing the service window, processing outgoing mail and postage, and responding to mailing and delivery questions.
  3. Oversee postal systems, records, and resources, including postage meters, mailing and tracking systems, postal accounts, supplies, cash transactions, invoices, and activity records.
  4. Coordinate with postal carriers and vendors to manage pickup and delivery schedules, resolve service issues, and maintain reliable campus mail services.
  5. Supervise and support the Postal Clerk, including scheduling, work direction, coverage planning, and coordination of day-to-day priorities.
  6. Support Campus Information and other campus operations by providing backup coverage and assisting with special projects, events, and operational needs during lower-volume periods.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can provide excellent service, keep a busy operation organized, and take ownership of the day-to-day details that keep campus mail services running smoothly. You don't need to come to us with experience in every aspect of postal operations-we're most interested in finding someone with a strong foundation in customer service or operations who can learn our systems and grow into the role.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Experience providing customer service and/or supporting the day-to-day operations of an office, service, or similar work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in postal operations, shipping and receiving, mail distribution, office administration, retail or service operations, or a related environment.
  2. Experience training, scheduling, supervising, or providing work direction to others.
  3. Knowledge of postal regulations, mailing procedures, or shipping practices.
  4. Valid driver's license
