We help solve the complex business and performance challenges faced by our clients, whether they be in thriving or distressed business transformation situations, or the cut-and-thrust environment of M&A… or sometimes all of the above!

What will your typical day look like?

Well, that is the fun part - it depends. As an Intern in the DT&PMI team, you will have the opportunity to work across an array of client scenarios and develop expertise across technology, operations, strategy, finance and much more. That said, if you asked one of our current interns about the type of work they have engaged in, they would probably include responsibilities like:

  • Play a pivotal role on client engagement teams supporting key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for turnarounds and/or M&A transactions.
  • Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of client, industry, and market performance, and synthesize results into practical strategies and action plans
  • Assist with the assessment and configuration of a client’s target operating model, and the identification of synergies and key value drivers
  • Prepare and deliver packaged client outcomes including reports, workshops and presentations
  • Work with collaborative teams to shape every aspect of businesses and help organizations across a wide range of industries to imagine, deliver, and run their future
  • Deliver value to clients by developing integrated strategies to win in their chosen markets and fundamentally transform their businesses through merger and acquisition, divestiture, and restructuring.
About the team

Statistics show that 60% of M&A transactions fail. The Deal Transformation & Post-Merger Integration practice exists to help solve this problem. We deliver value to clients throughout their entire M&A journey and support them on what can be one of the biggest challenges of their career. Working collaboratively within integrated, cross-functional teams, our practitioners are involved through all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including strategy, operational readiness, due diligence, pre-and post-close planning and execution, and follow-on transformation. We work across industries to deliver a range of services including defining the vision, strategy, and operating model for business functions; assessing system architecture; process design; business case development; assessment of potential value creation and deal structure; operational and commercial due diligence; and integration/separation planning. Additionally, enterprise profitability engagements assist clients with optimizing their business models and improving the bottom line.
