Job Title: Skilled Laborer / Carpenter’s Helper
Job Description
This role supports carpentry crews on commercial construction projects across the Rochester area and Western New York. You assist with a wide range of construction and carpentry tasks on active job sites, helping teams meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist carpenters and construction crews at various commercial job sites across the Rochester area and Western New York.
- Perform carpentry-related tasks, including framing, drywall work, and trim, under the direction of experienced carpenters and supervisors.
- Support the setup, operation, and breakdown of work areas on commercial, industrial, hospitality, and educational construction projects.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Follow established safety procedures and apply OSHA 10 training on all job sites.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all crew members.
- Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment as needed to support daily operations.
- Assist in running and supporting crews of laborers and carpenters to keep projects on schedule.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to understand task priorities and project requirements.
- Follow instructions, project plans, and quality standards to ensure work meets expectations.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of commercial carpentry experience or general construction experience.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various commercial job sites across Western New York.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in construction and carpentry.
- Experience with framing, drywall, and trim work in a commercial environment.
- Ability to work safely and consistently follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Strong work ethic and ability to support multiple crews on active job sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in carpentry, including commercial framing and finish work.
- Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software.
- Experience working on commercial, industrial, hospitality, or educational construction projects.
- Ability to adapt to different job sites and project types.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.

Work Environment
You work on active commercial construction job sites across Western New York, including commercial, industrial, hospitality, and educational facilities. The role follows a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with work performed both indoors and outdoors depending on the project. You regularly use hand tools and power tools and may work with construction management technologies such as Procore, as well as a company-provided phone, laptop, and iPad. The environment is safety-focused and fast-paced, with crews of laborers and carpenters collaborating to meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality standards. Appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety on all job sites.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
