Mortgage Servicing Clerk

Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Post-Closing/Servicing Clerk is responsible for performing and coordinating all aspects of loan reconciliation and servicing for 1-4 family residential real estate loans. These duties include but are not limited to addressing member and employee inquiries; onboarding and auditing closed loans for completeness; reviewing internal and investor reporting; and working with vendors to resolve issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to member and employee inquiries via email and phone.
  • Manage and process receivables from members and investors.
  • Reconcile and onboard 1-4 unit residential mortgage and Home Equity Line of Credit loans.
  • Assist with post-closing quality control and audits through document review and correcting deficiencies.
  • Assist with investor loan delivery and fee reconcilement.
  • Responsible for ensuring receipt of executed loan documents, file imaging, recorded mortgages and final title policies.
  • Responsible for opening, distributing and processing mail received in the department.
  • Provide and process loan payoffs.
  • Liaison with mortgage sub servicer for the transfer of servicing, reporting and general servicing of residential real estate loans.
  • Handle the intake and processing for subordinations and lien releases.
  • Maintain and update internal role procedures.
  • Comply with Credit Union policies and federal, state and other governmental rules and regulations for mortgage lending and servicing.
  • Complete all courses assigned in BVS in accordance with Credit Union policy.
  • Proactively demonstrate the TVFCU core values of integrity, honesty, flexibility, teamwork, leadership, accountability and strong relationships in every interaction with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of mortgage experience, preferably in post-closing and/or servicing.
  • General knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyze complex loan documents and solve problems while maintaining courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Must be accurate, detail oriented, and organized.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics, including but not limited to adherence to all State and Federal regulations.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently without close supervision.
  • Must be comfortable with substantial personal contact with others inside and outside of TVFCU for purposes of information sharing, relationship building, soliciting of cooperation, etc.
  • Must be able to be bonded and meet Safe Act Requirements, including but not limited to registered or licensed via the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
