Job description

Central Bank Mortgage is looking for a Bilingual Mortgage Loan Assistant who is fluent in English and Spanish and excited to become an active part of the Northwest Arkansas community. This role combines traditional mortgage support with relationship-building and community involvement. We want someone who enjoys working with people, helping families navigate the homebuying process, and building strong connections throughout the market.
What You'll Do
Support Loan Officers from application through closing
Communicate with borrowers and help gather required documentation
Assist Spanish-speaking customers throughout the mortgage process
Work closely with Realtors, title companies, processors, and internal partners
Attend community events, Realtor functions, and homebuyer outreach opportunities
Additional duties:
Processes loan applications within designated time frames.
Prepares and distributes required disclosures for mortgage loans.
Works with borrowers to obtain required documents, answer questions, and perform other administrative tasks related to the mortgage loan process.
Ensures accuracy of information in the loan pipeline and updates as necessary.
Requests verifications of employment, mortgages, deposits, and other documentation required by loan guidelines.
Enters required information from denied loans in system; prepares denial letters to notify customer of adverse action.
Conducts research necessary to complete any missing fields on initial loan application.
Completes Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) worksheets and verifies the accuracy of the information.
Coordinates loan closings with borrower(s) and title company.
Completes post-closing review of loan documentation to ensure all required signatures are present.
Scans closing documents into Blitz Docs following loan closing.
Conducts shipping functions including verifying that the loan is balanced in the system and all items are properly labeled, verifying that the necessary documentation is loaded into Blitz Docs.
Performs post-closing compliance review of loan file.
Reviews Fannie Mae quality control files and correspond as necessary.
Reviews Central Mortgage Company quality control files and type responses and correct items as necessary.
Helps facilitate Mortgage Lending audits.
Ensures that loan is moving through processing and underwriting and that it is on track to meet closing date.
Serves as local contact with holding company's fulfillment center to answer questions related to processing and underwriting.
Performs other administrative tasks as assigned.
Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Excellent Interpersonal Skills, a committed listener with the ability to show empathy. The ability to work effectively with all personality types in order to build rapport and confidence quickly.
High School diploma or GED. Prior general office and loan experience preferred.
Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on site and have regular work attendance.
Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines; ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction while maintaining a stable work performance.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, high achiever, strong work ethic with above average time management skills.
Ability and desire to work as part of a team and with people of diverse backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to drive a vehicle. Must maintain a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record for bank insurance purposes.
Ability to meet and maintain MLO status in good standing under the SAFE Act requirements.
Ability to attend meetings and other functions outside of normal banking hours and outside of Branson area.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in administrative and client issues, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills.
Physical demands in performing the duties of this position will require standing; walking, using hands to type, carry, handle and feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and must be able to lift 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
