Job description

Proof of the Pudding (POP) provides award-winning catering and provisions to conferences, meetings, exhibitions, conventions, and special events at the Gas South District . As one of Georgia's busiest convention centers and arena, every day brings new opportunities to create, design, and execute memorable events for a variety of guests.
We are seeking additional bartenders to help facilitate events at our Gas South District facilities and to provide beverage set up and service support at events. This position will report to Gas South Region and will travel to events throughout the Gas South Region.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for both pre & post bar set-up/breakdown responsibilities.
  • Sets bar up in a timely manner, including icing down product.
  • Communicates well with bar back personnel during the event to assist them with replenishment during shift.
  • Greets all guests and gives exceptional customer service.
  • Operations a point of sale system to collect funds.
  • Attentive to guests needs throughout the entire event.
  • Performs closing POS duties and financial processes as directed.
  • Cleans bar after closing, discard excess ice.
  • Record closing inventory used to balance bar consumption vs sales.
  • Responsible for putting away all inventory as directed.
  • Follows all federal, local, and venue alcohol policies.
  • Responsible, if applicable, for placing all items back in the liquor cage

Performs other related duties as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years of bartending experience
  • Must be a team player and a phenomenal communicator.
  • Must be experienced in preparing mixed drinks.
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must be TIPs certified (will accept similar accredited certifications).
  • Must be extremely hardworking and organized.
  • Must be exceedingly responsible and accountable.
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of upscale/VIP service styles required.
  • Must live near or be willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 40 lbs.

Work Environment
This position will consist of event attendance, preparation, set up, and breakdown. This position work mostly out of and mainly stay within the Gas South District Convention Center but may travel to other venues within the Gas South Region. This position will require traversing different terrains while lifting and moving product, equipment, and food items.

Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue.
