The Senior Point Of Sale Engineer is responsible for providing analytical, development, and configuration support for our Toshiba 4690 OS, ACE POS and CHEC Application solutions. We seek those whose ultimate goals are to contribute to moving forward with the latest technologies that POS systems are adopting such as Mobility, Digital Integration, Promotions Execution, etc.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leading system requirements gathering, design, coding and related technical tasks; including writing program specifications and design documents for relational databases and transactions services using a standard Project Life Cycle methodology.
  • Configuring applications according to department standards and performing appropriate unit and systems tests.
  • Analyzing and tuning application and system performance.
  • Preparing process and other documentation as required.
  • Functioning as a Project Coordinator on small to mid-sized projects.
  • On call rotation.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of IT experience within a Retail environment.
  • Experience with POS technology (Registers, Self Checkout, and other peripherals).
  • Strong testing and design expertise with experience operating in an Agile model.
  • Experience in creating Technical Design documents, Technical specifications, Production supporting documents, Implementation plans, test plans and test cases.
  • Open systems experience preferred.
  • Design experience with Toshiba 4690OS and ACE POS/CHEC applications preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $131,500.00
