Daikin Applied is seeking a Portfolio Strategy Manager who will support enterprise product direction by translating rep channel, sales network, market, and customer insights into structured inputs and recommendations, with priority focus on the Product Solutions portfolio (equipment). Under moderate direction, the role supports the Product Council, assists with Strategic Product Planning, and helps maintain the enterprise product portfolio view to improve visibility and decision quality. The role also supports gap identification across Service, Systems, Advanced, and Connected Solutions, elevating insights from the rep network and sales channel to inform cross-functional discussions. What you will do:
  • Develop and maintain regional Product Solutions gap analyses by organizing customer, rep channel, and market feedback across equipment categories into BU-facing requirements
  • Develop and maintain regional gap analyses across Service, Systems, Advanced, and Connected Solutions by identifying customer and application-specific needs and organizing them into structured cross-functional requirements. (e.g., service programs, turnkey/system applications, engineered performance solutions, digital/connected offerings)
  • Collect and synthesize voice-of-market inputs from rep channels, sales teams, regions, and verticals, maintaining a consistent intake and documentation process that informs portfolio discussions
  • Support the Product Council governance system by coordinating inputs, preparing agendas and pre-reads, documenting decisions, and tracking action items to ensure timely follow-through
  • Assist in executing the Strategic Product Planning process by gathering cross-functional inputs, supporting intake and prioritization activities, and preparing business case and roadmap alignment materials
  • Support maintenance of the enterprise product portfolio view, updating portfolio transparency tools, health metrics, and prioritization summaries to facilitate cross-functional alignment
  • Conduct portfolio analytics and market intelligence activities, summarizing competitive, regulatory, and market shifts to support Product Council and planning forums
  • Summarize implications of mega-trends-including electrification, decarbonization, IAQ/IEQ, and digitization-to inform product and solutions planning
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product BUs, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, and Systems & Energy Modeling to support execution of approved portfolio actions
  • Support enterprise-critical strategic projects as assigned, ensuring structured coordination and timely delivery of high-impact workstreams

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • 6 to 8 years years of progressive experience in portfolio/product strategy, product management, or commercial strategy

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 8+ years: including 4+ years of people leadership experience in Industrial/Manufacturing space
  • Experience supporting portfolio planning / product council governance or similar enterprise forums.
  • Experience building regional gap analyses and converting insights into requirements, prioritization inputs, and BU-ready summaries.
  • Experience working directly with rep/channel organizations and sales networks to convert field feedback into structured portfolio actions.
  • Familiarity with NPI and commercialization processes and how market needs translate into roadmap decisions

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $100,800k - $171,700k and a bonus potential up to 15% in MN. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
