Job Summary:ย 

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps practices that enable reliable, scalable, and efficient delivery of software solutions. This role focuses on CI/CD automation, deployment pipelines, environment management, and production support, with a strong emphasis on Azure DevOps.
The position requires a solid background in software development to effectively support application teams and ensure alignment between development and deployment practices. The DevOps Engineer will also define best practices, establish standards, and provide internal training to drive adoption of DevOps methodologies, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC), across the organization.

Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or related rolesย 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelinesย 
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or similar platformsย 
  • Experience supporting or contributing to software development teams or initiativesย 
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code in enterprise environmentsย 
  • Experience supporting application deployments and production systemsย 
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and release management methodologiesย 
  • Advanced skills in Azure DevOps, including pipelines, repositories, artifacts, and workflow configurationย 
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools and practices (e.g., ARM, Bicep, Terraform)ย 
  • Understanding of Configuration as Code and environment management strategiesย 
  • Strong understanding of software development practices and application architecturesย 
  • Ability to design and optimize automated deployment pipelinesย 
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across build, deployment, and runtime environmentsย 
  • Ability to train, mentor, and influence teams on DevOps tools and best practicesย 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholdersย

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office work involving prolonged periods working at a computerย 
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing facilities for system support and deployment activitiesย 
  • When on-site, may be required to enter production environments and follow safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE)ย 
  • Exposure to manufacturing conditions such as noise, controlled production areas, or varying temperaturesย

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $93,881.00 and $125,174.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. ย The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. ย This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to automate build, test, and deployment processesย 
  • Administer and configure Azure DevOps, including repositories, branching strategies, pipeline templates, and artifact management
  • Define, standardize, and enforce DevOps best practices across teams, including CI/CD, release management, and environment strategyย 
  • Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) to ensure consistent, repeatable environmentsย 
  • Support application teams in integrating DevOps processes into their workflows, leveraging prior development experience to bridge gapsย 
  • Monitor pipeline performance, deployment success, and system reliability, and troubleshoot issues across environmentsย 
  • Participate in release planning, deployment execution, validation, approval, and post-release supportย 
  • Produce and maintain documentation, including pipeline design, environment configurations, and operational runbooksย 
  • Develop and deliver internal training programs on Azure DevOps, CI/CD practices, and DevOps methodologiesย 
  • Mentor and guide team members to improve DevOps adoption, technical capability, and adherence to standardsย 
  • Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure successful delivery of solutionsย 
  • Drive continuous improvement of DevOps tools, processes, and automation to increase efficiency and quality
  • Architect and enforce DevSecOps practices within Azure DevOps by embedding role-based access controls, automated vulnerability scanning, secret management, branch protection rules, and security/compliance checks in CI/CD pipelines

Travel:

  • Occasional travel (approximately 5-10%) to support deployments, troubleshooting, and system implementations at manufacturing sites
