Key Responsibilities

    Lead a team of associates and occasionally supervisors to own and manage a process area within a distribution center
    Drive a performance-based culture in the area to meet or exceed stated performance objectives in safety, quality, productivity, customer experience and employee morale
    Implement and uphold standard work and audit practices for the team
    Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions on misses on operational metrics
    Drive operational excellence by fueling continuous improvement efforts across various parts of operations
    Develop and share best practices across departments, shifts and other distribution centers
    Manage and develop associates through hiring, training, mentoring, clearly communicating job expectations, and drive accountability through counseling, and performance reviews
    Create, manage, and support associate recognition programs
    Support all safety and regulatory compliance programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
    Ensure area and shift readiness requirements are met daily and associate barriers are quickly addressed
    Develop collaborative operational plans across multiple shifts and departments
    Align operational capacity requirements with headcount planning to meet daily operational goals and  customer commitments through shift planning, capacity balancing and strong execution
    Follow daily and hourly leadership routines to drive timely completion all key activities
    Ensure equipment is maintained to standards, and is being operated safely and effectively at all times
    Provide associate with all available tools and resources to perform their duties in an efficient and safe manner
    Perform other duties as assigned

Competencies and skills

    Strong problem solving and analytical abilities to provide thought provoking and workable business solutions
    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
    Proven track record of driving positive change through lean implementation and Kaizen events, and delivering strong results
    Adept at motivating team members in a deadline driven environment
    Ability to operate independently and efficiently in an ambiguous environment
    Hands on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
