Job description

Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn't have imagined - and now can't imagine living without.
The Finance Transformation team is shaping the future of Finance from modernizing our systems, implementing innovative AI solutions, and up-skilling the workforce. We are looking for a Program Management Office (PMO) Lead who will serve as the operational backbone of our transformation portfolio - bringing structure, rigor, and strategic clarity to one of the most consequential programs in Apple Finance. You will be responsible for driving portfolio governance, enabling cross-functional delivery, and ensuring Finance Transformation initiatives are executed with precision, transparency, and velocity.
Description
The PMO Lead is a highly strategic, hands-on senior individual contributor role embedded within the Finance Transformation Program Management Office. As Finance Transformation accelerates across AI adoption, systems modernization, and process redesign, this role is critical to ensuring the portfolio operates as a cohesive, well-governed program rather than a collection of independent workstreams. Partnering directly with Finance Transformation leaders, initiative leads, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will drive portfolio governance, shape delivery standards, and ensure the program operates with the rigor and visibility that a transformation of this scale demands.
This role requires a seasoned self-starter who can operate independently, manage up effectively, and move fluidly across strategic and execution-level work. You will serve as the connective tissue of the Finance Transformation program - maintaining line of sight across interdependencies, risks, milestones, and resources; synthesizing complex information into polished executive-level communications; and influencing outcomes across teams and leaders who do not report to you.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience in program management, portfolio management, or strategic operations, with direct experience in Finance programs, Finance PMO, or Strategic Finance environments.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
12+ years of experience in program management, portfolio management, or strategic operations, with direct experience in Finance programs, Finance PMO, or Strategic Finance environments.
Proven track record as a senior individual contributor who operates with a high degree of autonomy, manages up effectively, and can drive accountability across teams and leaders without direct authority.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-workstream programs with numerous interdependencies, senior stakeholders, and high organizational visibility.
Exceptional executive communication skills - both written and verbal - with a proven ability to craft polished, executive-grade presentations and communicate with clarity across all levels of an organization.
Strong command of project and portfolio management tools (e.g. Wrike, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent). Ability to learn internal systems rapidly.
Methodologies & Frameworks: Deep practical command of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), portfolio governance best practices, and structured problem-solving frameworks.
Domain Expertise: Familiarity with finance transformation, including the intersection of AI-driven automation, ERP modernization, and finance operating model redesign.
Software Planning: Experience supporting technology intake processes, software demand planning, and off-cycle investment decisions in partnership with Finance and IT stakeholders. Experience with Clarity.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification.
