Crowne Tax & Accounting is seeking an experienced Tax Team Manager to oversee our team of Tax Professionals while continuing to provide exceptional service to our clients. This position combines technical tax expertise with leadership, coaching, and operational management.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who enjoys mentoring others, improving processes, and ensuring clients receive accurate, timely, and proactive tax guidance.

Responsibilities


Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Tax Professionals.
  • Review completed tax returns for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Monitor workloads and deadlines to ensure timely completion of client engagements.
  • Provide technical guidance on tax law and firm procedures.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
  • Conduct performance coaching and support professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team culture.

Client Management

  • Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients.
  • Meet with clients to discuss tax planning opportunities and financial goals.
  • Review complex tax returns and resolve technical issues.
  • Respond to client questions and provide year-round tax guidance.
  • Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices when needed.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve tax preparation workflows and internal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with firm standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with firm leadership to identify opportunities for growth and increased efficiency.


Qualifications


Required

  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065).
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring a tax team.
  • Strong understanding of federal tax law and tax planning strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines during busy seasons.

Preferred

  • CPA or EA designation (or actively pursuing).
  • Experience working with small businesses and closely held companies.
  • Experience serving medical, dental, or other professional service clients.
