Job description

About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Full-Time Loan Assistant for our Pleasant Grove or Lehi branch.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide administrative functions to support loan officer and team.
  • Communicate with customers and prospects to reduce friction in the loan production and portfolio management processes.
  • Assist in collecting, filing, and organizing customer financials and information.
  • Interact with business owners and other professionals in person, by email and telephone.
  • Work with other departments in the bank to help with loan production, documentation, and portfolio management.
  • Compose letters and memoranda, edit written communications.
  • Collect and prepare information for use in discussions and meetings with internal and external loan clients.
  • Take meeting minutes in loan team meetings.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learner responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training. If the learner does not understand the information given, they need to reach out to their supervisor for further clarification or additional training.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to Altabank Core Values.

  • Represent Altabank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive "can-do" attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish, among other things, in-person contact with customers.

About You

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Experience

    One year to two years of similar or related experience.

    Education

    A high school education or GED.

  • Must have reasonable understanding of a bank and the loan process.
  • Must have strong computer skills in Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Must have high interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change (e.g. shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position.
