Job description

We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our Life Sciences and Healthcare team. This is a full quota carrying role responsible for owning the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through close, across small to mid-sized pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, financial, and professional services organizations.

You will sell Clarivate's portfolio of data, analytics, and intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on R&D, market assessment, market access, and real-world evidence solutions. Success in this role requires strong commercial judgment, disciplined pipeline management, and the ability to translate complex data and insights into clear business value for senior decision makers.

This role partners closely with BDAs, Solution Consultants, Product, and Marketing to drive consistent new logo growth and long-term customer value.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of B2B sales experience

  • 5 years of experience selling software, data, analytics or services into life sciences or pharma

  • Degree in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or medical sciences

  • Demonstrated experience managing opportunities through the full sales cycle

  • Familiarity with U.S. pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare markets

  • Proven ability to present to Director, VP, and C level stakeholders

  • Experience generating new business through outbound prospecting

  • Experience attending and leveraging industry conferences for pipeline generation

  • Proficiency with Salesforce or a similar CRM

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Own the end-to-end sales process from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close

  • Generate new business through outbound prospecting, inbound lead conversion, and strategic account targeting

  • Engage senior decision makers to uncover business challenges, priorities, and buying drivers

  • Position Clarivate solutions as strategic investments supporting R&D, commercial, and corporate decision making

  • Build, manage, and forecast a healthy pipeline aligned to quarterly and annual revenue targets

  • Collaborate with BDAs, Solution Consultants, and cross functional partners to advance opportunities efficiently

  • Attend and support industry conferences and events to drive new logo pipeline and deepen customer relationships

  • Maintain accurate activity and opportunity tracking in Salesforce

  • Continuously develop expertise across Clarivate's product portfolio and relevant industry trends

Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

  • The role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring you to be in the office 2-3 days a week.

  • Must live in a commutable distance to our Tempe, AZ office
