About the role:

As a Senior Associate, Portfolio Strategy you will serve as an internal strategy consultant to directly support the Cardiology executive leadership team. In this highly visible role, you will partner with senior leaders to frame critical business questions, evaluate new growth opportunities, and translate complex market dynamics into actionable strategic decisions that shape the future of the Cardiology business.

You will lead high-impact strategic initiatives across portfolio strategy, commercial excellence, competitive strategy, innovation, and market development. Working in an environment characterized by ambiguity and evolving market dynamics, you will integrate market intelligence, customer insights, financial analyses, and data-driven recommendations into compelling executive narratives that influence investment decisions and long-term strategy.

At Boston Scientific, our products and technologies diagnose and treat a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. As we continue to innovate and expand into new therapies and markets, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategic priorities across one of the company's largest and fastest-growing businesses.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as a trusted strategic thought partner to Cardiology leadership by framing complex business questions, evaluating strategic alternatives, and developing recommendations that inform executive decision making.

  • Translate ambiguous market dynamics into clear strategic choices by integrating competitive intelligence, customer insights, market research, financial analyses, and forecasting to identify growth opportunities and strategic priorities.

  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Clinical, R&D, Business Development, and Sales leaders to solve critical business challenges through rigorous analytics, structured problem solving, and data-driven recommendations.

  • Build market models, forecasts, business cases, and scenario analyses that support portfolio investments, commercialization strategies, pricing decisions, and long-range planning.

  • Design and oversee primary market research—including physician, hospital, and customer research—leveraging external partners to deliver actionable insights. Apply pricing research, willingness-to-pay assessments, and conjoint analyses to inform product positioning, value propositions, and pricing strategy.

  • Lead competitive strategy by identifying emerging threats and opportunities, synthesizing market intelligence, facilitating strategic discussions, and translating insights into actionable business responses.

  • Develop executive-ready presentations, strategic narratives, and decision frameworks that communicate complex analyses with clarity and influence senior leadership decision making.

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and strengthen strategic planning, market intelligence, and portfolio decision-making capabilities across the Cardiology organization while fostering a collaborative, intellectually curious culture.

  • Attend key cardiology conferences to gather competitive intelligence, identify emerging technologies and market trends, and translate observations into strategic recommendations for executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, market intelligence, commercial strategy, marketing, finance, business analytics, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to structure and solve ambiguous business problems through rigorous analysis and strategic thinking.

  • Experience conducting market assessments, competitive intelligence, market sizing, forecasting, financial modeling, and commercial analyses.

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, executive-level recommendations.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across highly matrixed organizations.

  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic problem-solving capabilities.

  • Collaborative, self-directed, and intellectually curious with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Ability to travel approximately 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.

  • Medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry experience.

  • Experience with market and financial modeling, scenario planning, pricing strategy, conjoint analysis, and primary market research.
