Position Overview

The main role of a Sales Porter at Optima Dealer Services, Inc. is to be responsible for supporting the Sales Department by managing the flow and presentation of vehicles across the dealership. This includes receiving, moving, fueling, and parking vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and organization of lots and showrooms, and providing support to the sales staff and customers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain new and pre-owned car lots in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Manage logistics of vehicles between the dealership and parking/storage lots.
  • Ensure that sold vehicles are properly prepared for delivery.
  • Avoid blocking vehicles, occupying ADA spaces inappropriately, or creating safety hazards.
  • Oversee inventory, issuance, and security of vehicle keys and key machines.
  • Promptly report any missing or misplaced keys to management.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records of vehicle locations and availability.
  • Ensure all showroom vehicles are clean, fully charged (EVs), fueled (minimum quarter tank for gas vehicles), and properly staged.
  • Inform the Car Wash Manager when a vehicle requires cleaning.
  • Verify that seat memory, A/C, and radio settings match pre-delivery requirements, documenting as needed.
  • Support the Sales Manager with showroom organization and vehicle rotation.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and professional manner, using positive and welcoming language.
  • Maintain professional dress, body language, and demeanor while on duty.
  • Provide excellent customer service by anticipating guest needs and delivering a “five-star” experience.


Requirements

Driving Assignments Only

  • Valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely operate automatic vehicles (manual transmission preferred but not required)
  • Driving duties are assigned based on role level and operational needs

General Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with vehicle movement and lot duties
