Job description

About Port:

Port is the Agentic SDLC Platform. The way engineering teams build software is constantly evolving, and every new wave - such as AI agents operating across the SDLC- makes engineering more powerful, but also more complex and chaotic.

Port turns that chaos into control: one platform to build, govern, and operate the software development lifecycle, enabling every team to move as fast as technology allows.

Following our $100M Series C funding round, we are entering an exciting stage of significant growth and global expansion. As a product-led company, we believe the recipe for success is a world-class product that speaks for itself.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer who will bolster our enterprise segments in the AMER region. You'll partner with our Account Executives to provide the deep technical knowledge and demonstrations that help close deals that can often range from five to seven figures. We value your unique skill set that combines engineering expertise with a salesperson's intuition. The ability to articulate solutions in a relatable way and assist in navigating technical discussions is indispensable. At the heart of your role is the fusion of impeccable technical knowledge with a keen sales awareness, ensuring Port's value is communicated clearly and effectively.

About your Day-to Dy:

  • You'll be a key asset in the sales process, demonstrating the technical aspects of Port's offerings and how they relate to client needs.
  • Demonstrate product capabilities, tailored to the unique requirements and pain points of each potential customer.
  • Leading technical Proofs of Concept (POCs), ensuring prospects understand the full value proposition of our solution.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to define and refine sales strategies, incorporating technical insights.
  • Provide feedback to our Engineering and Product teams, sharing front-line intel about customer needs and market demands.
  • Engage in continuous learning, ensuring you're always up to speed on our latest product enhancements and the wider market landscape.

Who you’ll work with:

You'll be the tech wiz amidst a talented group of Account Executives, deepening their pitches with your technical know-how. You’ll regularly provide insights to our Product team from your standpoint. Sales forecasting meetings will be richer with your presence. And, of course, key collaborations with our VP of Enterprise Sales, CEO, CTO, and Engineering team will be essential. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer role with Enterprise experience, though similar expertise in technology consulting roles will be considered.
  • Hands-on experience with developer tools, CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. Professional Development or Devops experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to break down complex subjects in a relatable manner.
  • A passion for value-selling with a keen sense of how technology addresses business needs.
  • In-depth understanding of our product suite, and the ability to demonstrate them effectively.
  • Problem-solving prowess, anticipating technical challenges and addressing them proactively.
  • Note: Employees are required to work from the office 3 days a week and 2 days from home. Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
