Job description

We are seeking a Senior Professional Engineer (Structural or Mechanical) with 10+ years of heavy industrial Port, terminal and manufacturing plant infrastructure experience to lead design efforts, direct engineering teams, and drive strategic growth. Reporting directly to firm ownership, this high-visibility role combines hands-on design generation with team oversight and offers a pathway to firm equity partnership for proven performers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Design: Lead and generate specialized engineering designs for industrial facilities, port infrastructure, inland distribution terminals, and material processing plants.
  • Team Leadership & Oversight: Supervise, mentor, and direct internal design staff; oversee and manage retained engineering subconsultants to ensure project alignment, quality, and deadline adherence.
  • Licensure & Expansion: Maintain active PE registration and manage reciprocity efforts to expand professional licensure across multiple states as project demands dictate.
  • Client & Executive Interaction: Report directly to firm ownership, presenting technical solutions, project updates, and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, with immediate eligibility to obtain multi-state registration via NCEES.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, specifically focused on industrial ports, bulk material handling, inland terminals, or material processing facilities.
