Job description

Thank you for applying to one of the most premier places to work in the Northeast Florida! People are our greatest asset and we are currently seeking people like you who have a desire to join our team.
Come join us Epping Forest Yacht and Country Club for the Spring to Fall 2025 as a Poolside Cafe Server! Our Wheelhouse Cafe has a full size bar and dining room that services an adult pool, family pool and kid's pool areas. You'll working for a NE Premier Yacht Club right on the St. John's River. We look for energetic, self motivators who are willing to up hold high standards on the guest experience. Most of our staff continue to work on the property for years to come moving on to become Mansion Servers, Bartenders and Capitan's. Welcome to the Forest!
EDUCATION: Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and/or oral direction in English.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must have six months of food service or private club server experience. This is must include use of the Point Of Sale (POS) computer system.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must know finer points of service, a good understanding of beverages - alcoholic and nonalcoholic, a working knowledge of course sequence, utensils, plateware and glassware, a working knowledge of appropriate equipment and accompanying safety features.
JOB SUMMARY: Ensure guests have a very enjoyable dining experience by having a positive attitude, knowing the product, delivering top quality service, knowing and using the guests names, exceeding the guests expectations and being a team player.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to work on feet, moving about at a quick pace for several hours at a time; Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds, to include furniture, glasses, dishes, ice, beer, wine, liquor - individually on racks and/or trays or by cases.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  1. Be punctual at all times and arrive to work on time, consistently.
  2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends and holidays.
  3. Clothing must be in proper taste, crisp, clean, and in good repair, upon entering the property, including wearing name tag. Demeanor must be professional and welcoming.
  4. Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; Management has final approval.
  5. Make sure all sidework is complete before opening.
  6. Set up tables: glasses and silver are clean and lined up properly; salt and pepper shakers clean and filled; sugar holders are full and clean; chairs, including legs and table bases, are clean; flowers look good; table cloth is crisp and hanging properly.
  7. Attend pre-shift meeting to learn daily specials and miscellaneous information.
  8. Greet members and their guests IMMEDIATELY and with a SMILE.
  9. Guide members and their guests through the course of their dining experience, communicating frequently with them.
  10. Ring member checks accurately and on a timely manner.
  11. Communicate with the Cafe Captain or the Service Director as to when to close.
  12. Clean station and sidework as required.
  13. Close and check all member checks at the end of the shift.
  14. Turn in check-out to the Café Captain or the Service Director.
  15. Perform other jobs that will assist in quality member service as assigned by the Café Captain or the Service Director.
