Pool Studio Design professionals primarily handle the creative and planning aspects of pool projects, including design and layout. Pool Contractors execute the construction, installation, and finishing work. Both roles are essential in the pool industry but differ in their focus, credentials, and work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by Pool Studio Designers when working with clients during the design process?

Pool Studio Designers often encounter challenges such as aligning client expectations with practical design possibilities, managing project budgets, and navigating site-specific constraints like space limitations or local regulations. Effective communication is key, as designers must translate clients’ visions into realistic 3D renderings while providing expert guidance on materials, safety, and maintenance. Collaborating closely with landscape architects and construction teams is also essential to ensure the final design is both aesthetically pleasing and structurally feasible.

What is Pool Studio Design?

Pool Studio Design refers to the process and specialized software used to create 3D designs and visualizations of swimming pools and outdoor living spaces. Professionals use Pool Studio, a popular design program, to draft, plan, and present custom pool concepts to clients, allowing them to see detailed renderings before construction begins. This helps clients visualize features such as pool shapes, landscaping, hardscapes, and lighting in a realistic way, making design decisions easier and more collaborative.

Job description

Pool Designer & Outdoor Living Consultant

Bay Area Pool Authority | Tampa / Lutz, FL

About Us

Bay Area Pool Authority is a design-focused pool and outdoor living company built on craftsmanship, accountability, and client experience. We design and build custom environments that homeowners live in, not just pools. Innovation and forward thinking in design is our top priority.

This role blends design, client experience, and sales and requires ownership from initial consultation through final delivery.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Collaborate with construction team to ensure design intent is executed
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the full project lifecycle

Qualifications

  • Experience in pool design, landscape design, construction, or sales
  • Experience with Pool Studio strongly preferred
  • Strong design sense and spatial awareness
  • Confident, consultative sales approach
  • High level of accountability and follow-through
  • Self-motivated and organized

Compensation

  • Base + commission or commission-heavy structure
  • High earning potential
