Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Fitness Trainer position.

In this role, you will be responsible for motivating and encouraging participants to reach their full potential in terms of fitness and overall wellbeing. Assists with coordinating all events of the fitness and recreational programs, including initiating and implementing individual and group exercise programs and recreational programs, maintaining standards of safety, and managing quality improvement by updating programming to stay current with industry trends.


The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, physical education, allied health sciences, or a related human services field
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in personal training or group fitness instruction within a senior living setting
  • Current certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) or the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) (or must be enrolled by the sixth month of employment and completed within one year of hire date)
  • Current certification from the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), as needed
  • Current CPR and AED certifications
  • Additional certifications may be required in accordance with State laws, such as Lifeguard, Pool Operator, and First Aid
