Float Pool - Critical Care (Day Shift)


  • Location: Utica, NY, 13502
  • Duration: 13 week
  • Shift: Day; 6:30 AM -7 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekly Pay Rate: $2,088 - $2,268; (Negotiable based on experience)

    Position Summary:

    The Float Pool – Critical Care RN will provide high-quality nursing care across multiple critical care units, including ICU and step-down areas. The RN will adapt quickly to various clinical settings, uphold patient safety standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal outcomes.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols and best practices.
    • Float between assigned critical care units as needed to meet patient care demands.
    • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EMR.
    • Administer medications, perform procedures, and manage life-support equipment as appropriate.
    • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
    • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment and recovery.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.

    Required Requirements:

    • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience required.
    • Licensure: Active New York RN license (all active RN licenses must be verified).
    • Certifications:
      • BLS (Basic Life Support)
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
      • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
    • EMR: Experience with Epic preferred.
    • Floating: Required – this is a float position across critical care areas.
