Pier Sixty-Six Resort is looking for a Grounds and Pool Maintenance Engineer to join the team.

The Grounds and Pool Maintenance Engineer is responsible all grounds and aquatic facilities, as well as waste management systems at the resort, are maintained to the highest standards. This role combines hands-on maintenance with oversight of third-party contractors, ensuring aesthetic appeal, operational efficiency, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily sweeps of the resort to pick up all trash, leaves, palm branches, and other debris to maintain a pristine environment.
  • Utilize blowers to keep walkways and driveways clear and clean, ensuring a welcoming appearance for guests and staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the grounds and coordinate necessary maintenance or enhancements.
  • Regularly inspect the resort for any maintenance issues or damages and relay findings to the Chief Engineer or Supervisor promptly.
  • Perform daily checks on pools and pool decks to ensure they are in excellent condition and report any irregularities.
  • Test pool water quality daily, adjust chemical levels as necessary, and maintain accurate records of water chemistry to ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Clean pool strainers regularly to ensure optimal filtration and pool operation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the trash compactor area, including washing down to ensure hygiene and safety standards are met.
  • Oversee the implementation of waste removal and recycling programs across the resort, promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; technical training or coursework in landscaping, pool maintenance, or related fields highly desirable.
  • Some experience in grounds or pool maintenance preferred but not necessary.
  • Basic understanding of groundskeeping and pool maintenance tasks; ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain certifications such as Certified Pool Operator (CPO) within the first year of employment advantageous.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing for long periods; comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
