Position Summary
The Pool Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests at the Pool while creating a warm, welcoming, and personalized experience. This position serves as an ambassador of Meadowood's commitment to luxury hospitality by anticipating guest needs, maintaining a professional appearance, and ensuring all service standards are consistently upheld.
The Pool Server works closely with the Pool, Culinary, Stewarding, and Food & Beverage teams to deliver timely, accurate, and memorable service in a relaxed outdoor environment.
Essential Functions

Guest Service
  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to all guests.
  • Greet guests promptly and establish a welcoming rapport.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of food, beverage, wine, cocktail, and pool offerings.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages according to Meadowood service standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned sections to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding guest information and activities.

Pool Operations
  • Set up and maintain pool service stations before, during, and after service.
  • Monitor assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist with cabana and lounge setup as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, lounges, umbrellas, and service areas.
  • Ensure all service equipment is properly stocked and maintained.
  • Follow all pool safety guidelines and promptly communicate any concerns to management.

Food & Beverage Service
  • Possess a thorough understanding of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
  • Make recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with California ABC regulations and company policies.
  • Verify identification when required.
  • Process guest checks accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow cash handling and payment procedures.

Teamwork
  • Communicate effectively with Pool Management, Culinary, Stewarding, and fellow team members.
  • Assist coworkers as needed to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Support special events and additional Food & Beverage operations when needed.

This position primarily works outdoors and is exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, sunlight, wind, and occasional inclement weather. The position requires constant interaction with guests and team members in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
Physical Demands

Required Education and Experience

  • Previous restaurant, resort, club, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or fine dining environment preferred.
  • Valid California Food Handler Certification required.
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
