Description
Position Overview:
A Cabana Server is part of the Food and Beverage Department's Bars and Cabanas team. This role supports the team by being cross trained in both the bartender and cabana server positions, and also assists as a runner and barback when needed. Cabana Servers provide exceptional, personalized service to guests who have reserved a cabana for the day. Responsibilities include warmly greeting guests, promptly taking and delivering orders, and ensuring cabanas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day. The ideal candidate is guest-focused, detail-oriented, proactive in meeting guest needs, and committed to creating a Good-Clean-Fun experience for every guest at Typhoon Texas.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding customer service at Typhoon Texas.
  • Enthusiastically greet cabana guests and escort them to their designated cabanas.
  • Serve assigned cabana guests by taking orders, delivering food and beverages, answering questions, and providing timely, Texas-friendly service throughout their visit.
  • Take and enter cabana guest orders using the point-of-sale system in accordance with Typhoon Texas procedures, including verifying IDs for all guests appearing under the age of 35 when purchasing alcoholic beverages.
  • Complete daily restocking and cleaning tasks assigned by departmental leadership, as well as weekly deep cleaning tasks.
  • Ensure products are fresh and that FIFO (first in, first out) is followed to maintain proper product rotation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of checks, receipts and accurately process cabana guest payments.
  • Promptly close out cabana tabs and thoroughly clean cabanas after guests depart so they are available for same-day resale.
  • Ensure assigned cabana areas are fully prepared before opening by completing daily power washing, resetting furniture, and stocking all required items.
  • Promote ongoing sales initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items available for purchase, including on-site offerings, cabana-only menu items, specialty cocktails, beers, and liquors served, and assemble items when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health Department, TABC, and local (city and county) food and alcohol regulations while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Comply with all Pyek Group and Typhoon Texas policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of point-of-sale systems, pool safes, and relevant health, alcohol, and food service laws and regulations.
  • Proactively identify operational and equipment issues and collaborate with departmental leadership to resolve them when appropriate.
  • Embody Typhoon Texas's moment making keys of intentionality, Texas-friendliness, safety, cleanliness, and fun throughout all departments.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities, roles, departments, or park locations as needed.

Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have or obtain a valid Food Handler's permit and TABC certification.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift 25-50 lbs.
  • May be required to work in various weather conditions, including direct sunlight, high temperatures, or rain.
  • Must be able to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to communicate in a positive and professional manner and work well with others.
