What is a pool bartender?

A pool bartender is a hospitality professional who prepares and serves drinks at a bar located near or within a swimming pool area, often at resorts, hotels, or cruise ships. They are responsible for mixing beverages, serving guests, maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area, and ensuring a high level of customer service. Pool bartenders may also handle food orders, check guest identification for age verification, and manage bar inventory. Their work environment is typically outdoors, requiring them to be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and engaging with guests in a relaxed, vacation-like atmosphere.

They also work closely with barbacks to maintain stock and cleanliness behind the bar, and communicate with pool attendants to address guest needs or special events. This teamwork helps create a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests, especially during busy periods.
