Job description

Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a USA Sales Manager, Polyurethanes to sell our silicone surfactants – SILSTABS products in the United States. The successful candidate would work from his/her home office.

This opportunity offers a very competitive salary, pension and benefits package including a sales incentive.

Reporting to the Global Business Manager, Polyurethanes, the Sales Manager will prospect, sell products and develop markets and new products in various polyurethane applications. These include rigid and flexible foams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective customers in the geographic territory and market segments to maintain existing and generate new business for Siltech’s SILSTABS products.
  • Promotes/sells/secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrates products to existing and potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Maintains the first point of contact for customer problems and complaints. Expedites their resolution.
  • Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Travels for sales calls, attends tradeshows and other networking opportunities.
  • Works with other Sales Managers in a team focused approach.
  • Documents all quotes, meetings, sales calls and correspondence in CRM system.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature. Uses this knowledge to identify and pursue new marketing opportunities.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 5 years of experience selling PU silicone surfactants or PUR chemicals for polyurethane Applications and R&D expertise.
  • Chemistry or Chemical Engineering degree required.
  • Ability to work productively with technical teams.
  • Effective oral and written communication, with strong listening skills.
  • Ability to travel for sales calls, tradeshows and other networking.
