Job description

Responsible for operating 2 Injection Mold machines simultaneously. This position handles hot plastic shells and trims excessive plastic with a sharp blade. The injection mold operator also stacks completed shells on pallets, into gaylords, or onto carts that meets required specification for final assembly. Responsible for quality and quantity of product produced. Other duties as required to meet business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Production Supervisor or Production Team Lead (PTL).
  • Provide hands on job function training to coworkers as needed.

Requirements
Physical Demands and Abilities
  • Identify defects or flaws in finished shells
  • Understand signals (work orders, k/b cards, etc.) to verify the correct size, type and color of shell to be produced before processing.
  • Perform all job function while wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work around and handle polyester pellets, glass infused polyester pellets, and liquid colorant.
  • Monitor gauges and settings on injection mold machines.
  • Make minor adjustments on the molding machines.
  • Bend at waist to stack shells for up to 50% of hours worked.
  • Stack shells on a pallet, in a Gaylord, or on a cart.
  • Multi-task/operator 2 machines at one time.
  • Identify safety hazards and report immediately to direct supervisor.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Operate a pallet jack.
  • Must be able to record production information in log.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to withstand extreme heat during summer season, at times reaching over 100 degrees.

Minimum Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
