Sand Plant Maintenance Technician - Keep It Turning

Independence TX LLC

Strasburg, OH • On-site

$34 - $44/hr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 3 days ago

New

Job description

Sand Mining & Processing 4 Days On / 4 Days Off, 12-Hour Shifts
$34-$44 / Hour • Company-Paid Medical, Dental & Vision • 401(k) Match • Monthly Production Bonus
Conveyors don't splice themselves. Bearings don't change themselves. Slurry pumps definitely don't rebuild themselves. When a sand plant runs clean for a full shift, it's because somebody with a torch, a wrench, and a good ear made it happen - and that somebody is who we're hiring.
You'll build new sand plants from the ground up, then keep them alive: welding and fabricating, chasing down mechanical failures, swapping gearboxes and motors, fusing poly pipe, splicing belt, and rebuilding pumps. Feed systems, scrubbers, shakers, classifiers, crushers, hydraulics, air, water, electrical, structural - if it moves sand, it's yours to keep moving.
What You'll Do
  • Build it: construct and assemble new sand plants, then support maintenance and repair straight through commissioning.
  • Fix it: welding, mechanical repairs, electrical work, plumbing, hydraulic repairs, boiler maintenance, and air system servicing.
  • Keep material flowing: maintain and repair feed, conveying, scrubber, shaker, and classifying systems.
  • Own the heavy stuff: discharge hoppers, weigh systems, central mixers, load-carrying and drive systems, and structural systems.
  • Cover the utilities: water, air, and electrical systems, crushers, hydraulics, and recycling systems.
  • Turn wrenches that matter: bearing, gearbox, and motor changes, plus troubleshooting mechanical failures before they become downtime.
  • Splice belt: Flexco and Super Screw conveyor belt repairs.
  • Handle the messy jobs: slurry pump swaps and rebuilds, and poly pipe fusing.
  • Fabricate: welding and custom fab work to keep the plant running and improving.
  • Inspect and document: follow the Company's inspection schedule and turn in detailed inspection and maintenance reports.
  • Work clean and safe: orderly work areas, company safety policies, and full compliance with federal and state mining regulations.

Your Schedule
Built-in work/life balance - half the month is yours.
  • 4 days on, 4 days off
  • 12-hour shifts

What's In It For You
  • $34-$44 per hour, based on experience
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and company holidays
  • Monthly production bonus eligibility
  • PPE reimbursement, including approved safety boots and protective equipment
  • Real career growth with a rapidly expanding company

Requirements
What You Bring
  • 3+ years of welding or mechanical maintenance experience - sand, aggregate, or heavy industrial plant experience preferred.
  • Hands-on with bearing, gearbox, and motor changes.
  • Conveyor belt repair and splicing, including Flexco and Super Screw.
  • Slurry pump swaps and rebuilds, poly pipe fusing, welding, and fabrication.
  • Arc welding and cutting torch know-how.
  • Experience around gearboxes, bearings, structural welding, baghouses, elevators, silos, pumps, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, rigging, lifting, and mechanical alignment skills.
  • Comfort working at heights and in hot or cold conditions, indoors and out.
  • Skid steer, telehandler, and track hoe/backhoe experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • A safety-first mindset and pride in equipment that runs right the first time.

The Physical Side
  • Lifting heavy objects and equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, stooping, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
  • Work in all weather conditions and environments, indoors and outdoors.

Why Us?
We're a growing mining operation that runs on people who'd rather fix it right than fix it twice. You'll have real equipment to work on, a crew that backs you up, and a plant where your mechanical skills show up in the numbers every single shift.
Apply today - if you keep it running, we'll keep you moving up.
