Role Summary:
Operate a variety of production equipment including winders, banders, saws, and sealers safely and efficiently. Responsible for assembling boxes, bagging, stapling, spooling, taping and labeling per Standard Operating Procedures/Standard Work. Need to be able to work well in a team or independently.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Achieve White Belt Lean/Six Sigma Status
  • Read Safety Instructions, OPL (One Point Lessons), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and Work Instructions (WI).
  • Pack out items as specified on SOP.
  • Lift boxes, spools, and bags onto pallets or into bins manually.
  • Operate various pieces of equipment used in the production process.
  • Operate light machinery such as hand tools, glue guns, and shrink wrappers.
  • Perform simple math calculations.
  • Perform proper preventative maintenance and housekeeping for assigned equipment and workspace.
  • Ensure that quality product is produced at the standard rate per Work Instructions while minimizing the amount of scrap and down time incurred.
  • Count weigh, measure, and/or examine packaging and contents of items for conformance to company specifications.
  • Sort out defective products and enter quality into NOS (Nomaco Operating System).
  • Label and record items packed.
  • Handle any additional tasks as may be assigned by the Production Manager, Coordinator, or Lead.

Qualifications, requirements, and desired characteristics:
  • Be an ideal team player -
  • Ability to follow safety protocols including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Safety, and General Safety practices.
  • Able to read and follow the pack out drawings, assembly instructions, use of packaging material and stacking instructions on pallet or in bin.
  • Count, weigh, measure, and/or examine product for conformance to company specifications, to include math calculations and metric conversions.
  • Operate light machinery such as hand tools, glue guns, tape dispenser, and shrink wrappers.
  • Safe operation of equipment such as Winders, Banders, Handy Pack/Poly Bag, and Bag Sealer.
  • Use Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL) to sort out defective products
  • Label and record items packed.
  • Use tape measure, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Maintain documents and safety procedures on machine setup and operations
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch
  • Discipline to follow and kindly request everyone follow all safety and health policies and procedures
  • Complete tasks safely and efficiently with the highest level of quality in mind.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with coworkers, customers, vendors and management.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all company rules and policies including all safety rules and quality standards.
