Position Summary
The Department of Government, Public Service, and International Studies at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in the field of American Government and Politics beginning on August 16, 2027. Responsibilities include teaching sections of U.S. Government & Politics, as well as upper-division courses in American political behavior and public policy. Preference will be given to candidates who are willing and able to teach one or more of the following upper-division courses - Environmental Law & Policy, Political Parties & Interest Groups, and Political Campaigns & Elections. The successful candidate will possess excellent teaching skills and demonstrate a record of, or the potential for, scholarly research, presentations, and publications. The required educational background for this position is a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field with a primary teaching and research emphasis in the field of American Government and Politics. Applications from candidates who expect to defend their dissertation and complete their Ph.D. by August 2027 are welcomed.
