Job description

The Department of Political Science is seeking a Student Assistant to provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Student Assistant will be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. The student will also assist with various department projects as assigned.

Position Duties/Responsibilities:

  • General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes, and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with a high volume of phone calls, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as needed.
  • Assist with creating print and digital materials for programs and initiatives.
  • Assist the department leadership with various office-related tasks.
  • Help faculty organize various departmental events.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned occasionally.
