Job SummaryResponsible for preparing and serving palatable, nourishing, well-balanced diets to meet residents' daily nutritional and special dietary needs. Follows comprehensive resident assessments and plans of care to ensure individualized meal preparation. Stores, prepares, and serves food according to facility policies and procedures. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and workspaces in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Enhances resident comfort and quality of life through attentive dietary services.
Essential Functions
Assembles diet trays for residents according to facility procedures and diet cards.
Loads trays onto carts and delivers them throughout the facility.
Pushes carts and carries trays to dining areas and resident units as needed.
Respects residents' menu preferences and reports food refusals to supervisors and Charge Nurse.
Obtains instructions and makes meal substitutions as directed for residents who refuse meals.
Delivers nourishments, food supplements, and snacks to units as scheduled or directed.
Maintains food service equipment in clean and proper working condition, reporting issues promptly.
Assists with food preparation and operates food preparation equipment according to instructions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
